Notes: The massive wing of the Boeing Stratoliner frames the diminutive BD-5 homebuilt aircraft. On 11 September 1984, Peter K. Graichen and Albert C. Beckwith of Stow, Ohio, donated their BD-5 to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Power for this classic homebuilt was a Honda 1.1-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine of 101 hp.

Notes: With this aircraft, Geraldine Mock became the first woman to circumnavigate the globe, departing Columbus, OH, and arriving there again 29 days later in 1964.
