    Constructed as a P-40F by Curtiss at Buffalo, NY.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 41-14112.

    20 December 1942

    Involved in an incident.
    Forced landing Errumango Island, Vanuatu.

    Stripped and abandoned.

    15 June 1944

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Army.

    17 March 1989

    To Judith Pay, Tyabb, VIC with new c/r VH-HWK.

    November 1989

    Salvaged from crash location in Vanuatu by Robert Greinert, Ian Whitney and Martin Mednis - also salvaged P-40 ex 41-14205.

    Circa 1990

    To Judith Pay, Tyabb, VIC with new c/r VH-HWK.

    From 1990 to 2009

    Restored.
    One of only two known Merlin powered P-40s ever found.

    Markings Applied: 114112 / 106

    Based at The Old Aeroplane Company, Tyabb, Melbourne, Victoria.
