The cargo flight departed San Juan-Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU/TJSJ), Puerto Rico and was destined for Sint Maarten-Juliana Airport (SXM/TNCM), Netherlands Antilles. The accident occurred at 54 km (33. 8 mls) S off Beef Island, British Virgin Islands [Caribbean Sea] (Atlantic Ocean) while en route. Crashed.
There was one fatality and was one serious injury. The accident occurred at Beef Island, VI, United States while cruising. The damage was substantial. The co-pilot stated that the pre-flight and run-up before takeoff were performed with no discrepancies noted. After leveling off at 5500 feet they noticed that the right engine cylinder head temperature and oil temperature was about 10 degrees above the normal parameter for that engine...
