    Circa 1943

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 43-17174.

    Converted to a DC-4.

    April 1946

    To United Air Lines with new c/r NC30047.
    Operated with markings: Mainliner Lake Tahoe

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was destroyed. There were 79 fatalities. The international non-scheduled passenger flight departed Reykjavik-Keflavik International Airport (KEF/BIKF), Iceland and was destined for Goose Bay Airport, NF (YYR/CYYR), Canada. The accident occurred at 7,2 km (4. 5 mls) W of Issoudun, QC (Canada) while en route. Narrative: The DC-4 departed London at 21:48 GMT for a flight to Toronto with refueling stops at Keflavik and Goose Bay. The aircraft departed Keflavik at 05:12 GMT following a 66-minute stop...
