    Transferred to 42nd ECS, RAF Upper Heyford.

    21 December 1990

    Deployed from RAF Upper Heyford on Operation Desert Storm.

    17 January 1991

    Douglas Summers comments (10 November 2020): On this night flew an Iraqi Mirage F.1 into the ground during ACM. This is the only EF-111A to be credited with an Air to Air - or Air to Ground victory. This occurred in Gulf War I.
