    Circa 12 July 1957

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.

    Converted to an EF-51D.

    Assigned to NAS Norfolk, VA for storage.

    To Charles Snydor with new c/r N4222A.
    Acquired as surplus.

    From 1959 to Circa 1967

    To Trans Florida Aviation, Sarasota, FL keeping c/r N4222A.

    6 February 1959

    Certificate of airworthiness for NL51DL (P-51D, 26890) issued.

    From 1967 to Circa 1969

    To Cavalier Aircraft Corp, Sarasota, FL keeping c/r N4222A.

    Remanufactured as a Mustang II by Cavalier.
    New construction number, 11, assigned to the airframe.
    Strengthened wing with weapons hardpoints.

    December 1967

    First flight.
    Used as a camouflaged demonstrator on military demonstration tours.

    Circa December 1968

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Fuerza Aerea Salvadorenais.

    1969

    Wing assembly removed to fit to USAF s/n 44-84658 c/r N851D to build the first Cavalier Mk II for Indonesia under Operation Peace Pony I.
