    From 12 September 1988 to 18 September 1988

    Raced as #97, named MR.AWESOME.
    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Skip Holm. Qualified in 11th place with an average speed of 417.274 mph. Raced in Heat 1A. Finished in 5th place with an average speed of 405.860 mph.

    11 September 1989

    Crashed.
    There was one minor injury. The accident occurred at the Stead FLD Airport (4SD) Reno, NV, United States while climbing. The damage was substantial. Shortly after take-off, the pilot noted that the cylinder head temperature and the oil temperature were near redline. The pilot reduced power and noted that the manifold pressure was below normal. The pilot turned back to the runway and was able to extend the left main landing gear and the tail wheel only...
