    10 May 1972

    Flown by Lt. Randy Cunningham and Lt. JG William Driscoll with callsign SHOWTIME 100, shot down 3 MiG-17s with AIM-9Gs over North Vietnam, becoming first aces of the Vietnam War.

    10 May 1972

    Destroyed in a crash.
    After shooting down the 3 MiGs, the Showtime 100 was hit and damaged by an SA-2 SAM over Hai Duoing, 30 mi E of Hanoi. The crew flew 5 miles off the coast where both ejected safely and were rescued by SH-3 helicopters.
