Report from the team by Dan Peters: We were on track to accomplish our goal of breaking 200 mph lap speeds, but our newly overhauled engine must have spun the glue right out of the race prop! Our race prop is toast, so well have to throttle back for our sport flying prop. The new wheels and pants dont fit, the new canopy doesnt fit, but the pilot fits a little easier in the cramped Cassutt after a 20 lbs weight reduction program. Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Formula One class. The primary pilot was Dan Peters from Longmont, CO. Qualified in 22nd place with an average speed of 187.748 mph. Raced in Heat 1C. Finished in 6th place with an average speed of 174.155 mph. Raced in Heat 2D. Finished in 5th place with an average speed of 192.361 mph. Raced in the Medallion 2 race.
