    Constructed as a Buccaneer S.1.

    26 August 1960

    First flight.

    October 1960

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Navy with s/n XK526.

    Trials at Holme-on-Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire - the operations Centre for the Buccaneer programme.

    22 November 1962

    Converted to a Buccaneer S.2.
    Conversion at Holme-on-Spalding Moor.

    17 May 1963

    First flight.
    Maiden flight after conversion to Buccaneer S.2. One of just two Buccaneers to fly in both S.1 and S.2 configuration.

    August 1964

    Royal Aircraft Establishment at Bedford for catapult launch trials followed by radar evaluation.

    July 1967

    Transferred to MoD Boscombe Down.
    Service with A [and] AEE Aeroplane [and] Armament Experimental Establishment.

    March 1980

    Transported by ground. Delivered to RAF Honington, Suffolk.

    10 March 1980

    New serial number assigned: 8648M RAF
    Assigned to Battle Damage Repair duties.

    16 February 1983

    To RAF Honington, Honington, Suffolk, England.
    Mounted at the gate.
