    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 53-0044.

    New serial number assigned: CQ364 MASDC

    Last C-124 in Military Air Command Reserve Forces.

    12 December 1981

    To unknown owner with c/r N3153F (C-124C, 53-0044).

    Notes: N3153F Douglas C-124C Globemaster II - Previously 53-0044, this Globey gained a civilian identity and was preserved close to Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas.

    Was located for many years on the corner of Koval Lane and Reno Avenue near McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. Numerous plans were made to use the aircraft for advertising, display, and even as a restaurant, but nothing came of this and over the years the aircrafts condition deteriorated.

    Notes: Douglas C-124 Globemaster II (53-0044) ex-N3153F was scrapped in Las Vegas, NV. in 2001. The aircraft was scrapped and loaded into trucks for the recycler in one day.I have many images and video of the demo.
